The following was reported in the New York Times and, with careful editing, in the Washington Post:
“Six people were killed in a shooting early Sunday in an Indianapolis home in what
Mayor Joe Hogsett described as a “mass murder." The victims included a pregnant
woman and her male fetus, after efforts to save it failed.”
The victims were subsequently named, but only five names were mentioned. Another individual was found wounded but was not listed as a victim. So, in line with what the initial news reports said, one of the SIX victims (people) INCLUDED an unborn fetus.
Now, this event is a terrible tragedy and I pray that the grace and comfort of God will be upon both friends and family of the victims; but, I must admit that I am a bit confused. Why? Because something that the political powers that be (as well as a sizable chunk of the American population) want to identify as just a disposable lump of tissue was, in this report from a notable press, referred to as “PEOPLE” and as a “VICTIM” of a “mass murder.
Well, I’m just clueless I guess. Did the mainstream media miss this embarrassing gaffe or did they fear the blowback from the father of the unborn child when the fetus was not reported asa murder victim? Regardless, I need someone more enlightened and intelligent than me to explain how a fetus can be both just a lump of disposable tissue and a viable person at the same time.
I need to comprehend how an unborn fetus was considered a murder victim after being shot while an unborn fetus that was aborted is considered a lifeless piece of a woman’s body that she chose to have removed. Please help me to understand.
